Beijing Future Science Park Sponsors Ignite Scale-Up Category

In celebration of the fifth year anniversary of the Ignite Competition, Spark Innovation Centre is extending their reach to include much sought after global markets with a newly announced partnership with Beijing Future Science Park. Spark Centre traveled to China with the Region of Durham Economic Development delegation in May 2017 and signed a reciprocal agreement with Beijing Future Science Park at that time. IGNITE 2017 Applications Now Open!

We are pleased to announced that applications are now open for our fifth annual Ignite Competition. Ignite 2017 will be handing out $80,000 to winning entrepreneurs across four categories: • Discovery Category: $25,000 • Scale-up Category: $25,000 • Ontario Power Generation Category: $25,000 • Student Entrepreneur Category: $5,000 The Ignite competition journey includes a pitch school, 60 second pitch competition, three minute pitch competition and 30 minute boardroom competition before a panel of judges chooses the winners. Spark Innovation Centre is pleased to announce Dash MD as the Young Entrepreneur winner and Hexyoo Scientific as the General Entrepreneur winner of the 2016 Ignite competition. Spark Centre is very pleased to announce the Student Entrepreneur winner and the Final Four Finalists after an incredible evening at Ignite’s Round 2: Pitch Competition. The Top 25 competitors gave their best three minute pitch in front of the Ignite Power Panel. Introducing the Ignite Top 27 Finalists!

The first round of Ignite pitches are complete and we have our Top 27! Ignite saw 67 incredible innovation, technology or invention based businesses apply. This week, Ignite held three separate competitions for the three categories; Student Entrepreneur, Young Entrepreneur and General Entrepreneur.
