The Ignite Power Panel has volunteered their time to mentor, advise and judge the Ignite Applicants on their business ideas. Made up of successful entrepreneurs, industry professionals and seasoned investors, this Power Panel is responsible for determining the finalists and the winners of the Spark Centre and Beijing Future Science Park Categories.
Stephan Krajcer is the CEO & Founder of Cuore Platform, a Canadian fintech using distributed ledger technologies to digitize and automate Financial Markets operations. He has 15+ years experience in capital markets at the largest Latin American Bank, being responsible for some strategic roles such as Managing Director for Funds Administration and Offshore Funds. As an engaged member of the Brazilian Capital Markets Association, he was President of its Securities Services Committee. Stephan is an electrical engineer holding a MBA degree from UC Berkeley with great international experience by living in Brazil, the San Francisco Bay Area, Israel and Mexico previous to GTA.
Sabrina Nestor is the Department Manager of Non-Destructive Examination Projects and Innovation in the Inspection and Reactor Innovation, Organization at Ontario Power Generation. Sabrina’s department is at the forefront of innovation with establishing new and creative ways to complete various non-destructive inspections. Most recent success was utilizing UAVs to complete a wide variety of visual inspections within the Nuclear Facility. Sabrina began her career in the nuclear industry with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited in 1999 as a Civil Design Engineer supporting the return to service of Pickering Nuclear Generating Stations Units 1 and 4. In 2005, Sabrina joined Ontario Power Generation and has since had a diverse career within the company supporting both nuclear and renewable power generation. Sabrina is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario with a degree in Civil Engineering from Ryerson University.
Jeff Quipp is founder and CEO of Search Engine People Inc. (SEP), Canada’s largest search marketing agency. From humble beginnings, Jeff helped to pioneer an entire industry, and in the process has grown SEP to become the defacto standard for search marketing excellence worldwide.

Jess’s passion for entrepreneurship began shortly after university when she founded a web development firm which continues to thrive today. Jess grew the business, scaling it to an integrated online marketing firm, eventually adding partners. In 2011, with a structure in place, devoting her time to Insiteful Solutions pivoted to investing in the future of start-ups. With extensive business experience, as well as Board and volunteer management expertise, Jess became the Executive Director of YAI in 2014, following many years as an active angel investor with the group.
Leveraging her entrepreneurial, business, and marketing acumen, Jess has worked with the YAI team to grow membership by over 220%, as well as increase deal flow, the number of deals completed and amount invested. This renewed energy and motivation earned YAI the honour of being ranked Top 5 in Canada in 2015 and 2016 and tied for 1st place in 2017. Today, YAI now has the largest membership in Ontario and second largest in Canada. Jess was recently appointed to the National Angel Capital Organisation’s Board, as Marketing Chair and is NACO World Angel Investment Summit (Conference) Chair.
Yihong Liu is the Chief Economist for the Beijing Future Science Centre Development Group Co., Ltd and Board Chair & General Manager, Beijing Future Science Centre Industrial Development Co., Ltd.
Yihong has 15 years of experience in hi-tech industrial investment, incubation and cultivation of hi-tech projects. She is experienced in enterprise accelerations by collaborated innovations through research, study and production.
In early 2017, under her direct leadership, BFSP and Spark Centre established a partnership agreement, and each has established a Satellite Office within the facility of the other party. BFSP is an official title sponsor for the Scale-up category.

Thomas (Tao) Qu is the Chairman of Durham Chinese Canadian Culture Centre and Executive President of Canada China Guanxi Council
With a BSc. Degree from Tsinghua University, and dual Master’s Degrees in Eng Physics from McMaster University and Chinese Academy of Science, Thomas is a recognized Nuclear Industry Expert in Canada with 27 years in Nuclear Safety and Management.
As the main founder and former president of Chinese Professional Association of Canada, current chairman of Durham Chinese Canadian Culture Centre and Executive President of Canada China Guanxi Council, to name a few, for many years, Thomas is a Chinese result driven community leader with passion, a true mover and shaker.
With his strong science background, Thomas has also been engaging in promoting the scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between Canada and China, specially for Durham Region and Spark Innovation Centre.
